Today's post is all about how to save money on your holiday shopping. I love shopping for presents for people. I think it is so fun to pick out the perfect gift for someone. While I am out shopping for people, I always trying to find ways to save some money. Over the past couple years, I have discovered some great tips for how to save on holiday shopping. I hope you learn something new today! It's lots of text, but I promise it's worth it to read (hint: giveaway)!
1. Split up gift sets. Gift sets are handy when shopping for multiple reasons. First, if you want to buy someone nail polish for a gift, it is cheaper to buy it in a prepackaged set rather than individually. Second, while it is easy to wrap and give as one gift to one person, that is not the only option. Say you have three sisters you are shopping for... buy one gift set of nail polish and one of perfume rollerballs. Split them up to give each person one nail polish and one perfume and you have three gifts done!
2. Never pay for shipping. Paying for shipping on items online can add $5+ dollars to your shopping total. Order from more than one store that charges for shipping and your cost just went way up! I recommend to always Google before you purchase -- you may find a code online somewhere that you can use for free shipping. If you cannot find a code, see if you can find the item on a different site that does offer free shipping. Another idea is to ship it to a store for pickup. Normally this is free of charge and as long as the store is not far away, it is very convenient!
3. Utilize Groupon. Most people do not know that Groupon has a goods section. You can buy clothing, electronics, accessories, sports memorabilia, beauty products, and more all at a discount! While this is maybe not the best option if you are searching for something specific, it is great if you just are looking for something general. Say you want to buy your mom some perfume. Groupon has the Vera Wang Princess perfume marked down from $55 to $26.99. Or, let's say your guy wants a new watch. You can buy him a 2-Piece Joshua and Sons Watch Set for only $49.99. (The actual retail value is $595!) Want to be the coolest Aunt? How about a battery operated bike marked down from $199.99 to $59.99.
