A Memory Of Us

Happy New Year's Eve! I hope you all have a great day spent with loved ones. Tyler and I are actually attending a wedding tonight! It will be a fun way to ring in the New Year! 2014 has been a truly great year. In celebration of the next few days, here is my 2014 recap:

January

Celebrated a birthday with great friends at the piano bar.

February

Sent a friend off to South Korea for a year to teach. (She comes home February 28!)

March

'A Memory of Us' was featured as Lauren Conrad's "Chic of the Week".

April

Took a weekend trip to Chicago with Tyler.

May

My best friend made it to Kansas City for a weekend! (Obviously we had BBQ and went to a Royals game.)

June

Celebrated a sorority sister's wedding.

July

After months of fighting lymphoma, I said goodbye to my childhood pet (Jesse).

August

A work trip with Tyler resulted in a fun week in Phoenix and a weekend in Las Vegas.

September

Went to Milwaukee with Tyler for a weekend trip (our favorite of this year's locations).

October

Followed the Royals all the way to The World Series! We attended game #2.

November

Reunited with my best friend over Thanksgiving.

December

Celebrated Christmas with the family.

I hope you all had a great 2014. Thank you for following along on this blog all year.

Hello! Hope your week is going well so far. Yesterday just seemed to drag for me! So many people at work are still on vacation so a lot of projects are on hold. It almost seems like even if you don't take vacation right now you still kind of get one just because of how many people are gone haha! I am carrying over the maximum number of days possible because of the wedding in April, so I am one of like 10 people at work this week. (or so it seems ha!)

I love today's look because the colors are so bright and vibrant! These pictures don't really show it, but it has been so gray outside lately. This sweater is currently just shy of 50% off! Shop it and the other colors here.

Hello, everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your loved ones! Mine was very busy, and very fun! I loved celebrating Christmas with my family. My brother, sister, and I each live in a different city so it is very special when we are all together!

I am recently very in love with the combo of a Aztec print cardigan and leather leggings (last seen here). This look is especially fun because of the bright pops of color in the blouse and shoes! These hot pink Pink Tulip Boutique Flats compliment the Jess Chic Boutique Cardigan perfectly!

I wore this look last weekend for a Saturday of running errands. This hounstooth terry top fits like a sweatshirt but looks much nicer. I paired it with one of my Black Friday purchases from Express: this burgundy wide brim hat! The burgundy is all sold out from Express (at least online check in stores!) but I have linked one from Asos above. Express does still have three different colors and they are each 50% off right now!

Also, I will be taking Wednesday and Thursday off of this blog. I will be spending the day with my family and don't want to be worried about getting a post up! I hope you all have a fabulous holiday... see you on Monday!

I have yet to find something that the J.Crew herringbone vest or my plaid blanket scarf does not go with. I've been especially in love with blanket scarves lately, so I am always looking for new ways to wear mine. Pair the herringbone vest with the plaid scarf and you've got a top 10 combination! Pretty sure the only thing missing from this photo shoot is a red Starbucks cup, ha! If you have also been loving the plaid blanket scarf trend, you may also like this post where I styled it with my favorite military jacket. The different ways to wear a blanket scarf are endless!

I hope you all had a good weekend! Tyler and I had our Christmas date Saturday. We went out to a fancy dinner, saw The Nutcracker, and exchanged Christmas presents!

I know that I just wore this vest (here), but when it was randomly "hot" this past weekend I could not resist the chance to pair it with my favorite navy skirt! It could be months before I have the chance to go bare legs, after all! My exact one is sold out in pink (they still have it in teal), but in the "shop the post" section below (or on the LikeToKnow.It link I'll be posting on instagram later today) I have a similar pink one linked :).

Thank you to everyone who offered advice on Wednesday on how to save my favorite pumps! I definitely learned some tips to try!

When I laid eyes on this Jess Chic dress, I thought it would be a fun alternative to prints you typically see during this time of the year. I, like most people, associate floral print with Spring or Summer. However, I think the colors and the way you style the print can totally make it work for the other half of the year! The navy base makes it less of a bright, in your face, pattern. You know I couldn't resist the chance to pair it with some colored tights, but I think it would great with black ones too!

Random question for you all. Have your heels ever stretched out so that they don't really fit anymore? I bought these Steve Madden Nude Pumps three years ago and they fit perfectly. I wore them for Tyler's graduation and kept them on until the end of the party, too! Now, though, they are so big they come up every time I step. Has this ever happened to you? If so, is there a way to fix it? They were expensive so I don't want to just toss them aside!

Hi, everyone! I hope you all had a great weekend. Tyler and I finished up our Christmas shopping (and wrapping!) and attended two ugly sweater parties!
