Two
weekends ago, Tyler and I went to Las Vegas with a group of our friends from
college! In total, we had a group of 13 and we had the best time!
We stayed at Treasure
Island. We mainly picked it for the price, but it ended up having a
great pool and was in a pretty convenient location! We were on one end of the
strip, but could access the monorail from Harrah's which was just a short 10
minute (ish?) walk away!
One of our first stops in Vegas was to Fat
Tuesday. This was recommended to us by
someone Tyler works with. They have alcoholic slushies and are SO good!
They were perfect to drink as we walked around the strip. They are very
sugar-y though, so I could not finish mine!
Friday evening, we went to the Chandelier Lounge in
the Cosmopolitan. It is a 3 story bar that sits inside a Chandelier... SO COOL!
The bar itself is nothing to write home about, but it is so pretty.
Saturday we spent the day walking the strip and going to
the pool. That evening, we did the High Roller. This
is the enclosed Ferris Wheel ("observation wheel") that gives you
AMAZING views of the strip! When we were on it, the fountains were going at the
Bellagio and it was so cool to see from above. Definitely worth the money to go
on it! Our tickets included unlimited drinks during our ride.
That evening, we headed to Fremont
Street, or downtown Las Vegas. It was very
cool to see! It is pretty much just like the strip.. full of lights, casinos,
bars, etc. It was fun to spend a night here because it was quite a bit cheaper!
We spent most of our night at one bar that had a really fun DJ, but also walked
through some of the casinos. They have a zip line here, which was really fun to
watch. However, none of us participated!
Tyler and I reserved Sunday for a date night. We went and
saw KA by Cirque de Soleil. It was fantastic. The entire stage moves (kind of like
how scenery moves in a Broadway musical but only this time it is the entire
stage)! The theater cost $165 million to build so it was incredible. After the
show we went to Battista's Hole in the Wall for dinner. It was recommended to us by more than one
person and had the most amazing Italian food. Our dinner came with bread,
salad, a cappuccino, and unlimited wine. (Yep, you read that right haha!)
We
had a great time in Las Vegas! It is so fun to take a trip with friends, and I
am glad we stayed an extra day so we could have a date night. If any of you are
headed to Vegas I would definitely recommend the High Roller and Battista's!
Any questions, just ask : ).
