I love kimonos. I think that they can add such a fun element to any outfit! Problem is, since they make such a statement it can be hard to re-wear them! I decided to challenge myself to restyle my Sea You Dream Kimono. I wore it in this post back in April. I decided I would try to make a completely different look, but still wear the same kimono, hat, and sandals.
My first look is definitely fancier, so this time I went for a more casual look. I decided I would pick up the blue tones in the kimono and paired it with navy shorts and a navy Kendra Scott necklace. My exact shorts are old, but here is a link to a similar pair that has all sizes in stock and is less than $20! Since I decided to go for colored shorts, I kept the top simple with just a plain white v-neck tee. I love how the look came together! It is perfect for a casual, weekend look. I think it would be great for running errands or going out for lunch. What do you think? Do you like this look or the original better? Let me know in the comments down below!
Have a good weekend!
I would love it if you would follow me on GFC or Bloglovin'!

I think you did a great job restyling the kimono - sometimes it's hard to wear pieces you love in different ways and you rocked it! xo, Biana -BlovedBoston

ReplyDeleteLove that idea! I truly love both looks, the white dress is probably my favorite but just because I am partial to little white dresses haha. I love that you picked up the blues this time, it really makes a difference and is gorgeous!

They really are such bold statement pieces, so it's hard to wear them often. What a great idea to get creative with your styling so you can wear the kimono more often!
ReplyDeleteI love that you restyled this! So many people only style a piece one way and forget there are tons of ways to style the items already in your closet!

ReplyDeleteI like both of them. If you want to try something out of the box, try adding a belt, tucking it into some paints or tying a knot with the bottom part of it.
ReplyDeletejust love this! so beautiful
