One of the biggest challenges of working full time, is dressing so that you are professional at work, yet ready to head to happy hour once the clock strikes 5.  It is not always possible to run home to change, so I wanted to share one of my favorite ways to easily transition between work and play.

A pretty classic outfit formula for work is trousers and a blouse. I am personally a fan of cigarette or pixie length pants. (These are next on my to-buy list.) Add a blazer for day time and you are set. In this look, I am wearing a white blouse from Rekucci. They are an online store that has amazing options for work. Rekucci has you covered in terms of blouses, blazers, pencil skirts, pants, etc. This top is easily something I would wear to work, but with a few tweaks to an outfit, it can also work for a night out.

If you've been a long time reader of this blog, you may remember these pants from a couple years ago. I still love them now, just as much as I did when I first purchased them for $6 off the clearance rack! Admittedly, bold printed pants are not for everyone OR for every work place, so a plain color would work here too. Red, white, or even a more simple print would work great for work with a plain blouse and blazer.

Once you are off work for the day, swap out your blazer for a leather jacket. Toss aside your work bag for a fun clutch and you're ready to go! You can also switch out your flats for heels, if you so desire. All are small, simple changes that completely change the vibe of your look. Bonus points if you add a bold red lip or some statement jewelry (like this ring, which Tyler loves to call my brass knuckels haha!). I love how just some easy swaps can easily make an outfit transition between work and happy hour.

Before you go, today is the last day to enter to win the bag I am carrying in this post! (I've also styled it here.) Enter using the Rafflecopter below!

  50. I actually tried on pixie pants for the first time yesterday & they are SO unflattering on me. Maybe they hit me at the wrong length? IDK, they somehow made my butt look bigger than it already is. Which is hard to do considering it's quite ample on it's own. Haha. No bueno.

    1. oh no!! I do think it's important to find the right length because sometimes they are just too long and look more like pants or are just too short!!
