Today I am sharing gift ideas for a six year old boy for Christmas! My son will turn 6 in January and these are items I have both on his list for Christmas and for his birthday. I hope this helps if you are looking for Christmas gift ideas for a 6 year old boy!
- Spirograph - You probably remember this from when you were a kid! A spirograph is a fun arts and crafts activity for kids. You use the different stencils to make really cool geometric shapes or spiral art. My son loves art so I think he will really enjoy these.
- Ticket to Ride First Journey- Ticket to Ride is one of my favorite games and I am so excited to share it with my son in the junior version. In Ticket to Ride, you collect colored train cars to make routes between cities. Different routes earn you different points and the player with the most points wins. In Ticket to Ride First Journey the objectives are the same, only there are less cities and the cities are represented by both words/icons for kids who are learning to read. I cannot wait to play this with him!
- LeapFrog LeapMove Interactive Learning Game - Out of every toy catalog we've received, this is the one item my son keeps mentioning the most. This to me is really similar to a Wii like we would have played with when younger. It is an interactive toy where you are in motion based games that focus on math, spelling, phonics, and more. It uses a camera to put you in the game! Added it to his list since it's the one thing he keeps coming back to. I think it will be a great indoor activity especially during cold, winter months!
- Legos - My son LOVEs Legos. In fact, he was a Lego man for Halloween this year. He loves to follow along with a set but also really likes making his own creations. This year, I'm looking at the creative house building set. It comes with 850 different pieces to make houses. I think it will be a great addition to his collection!
- Make That Most Magnificent Thing Game - Another item my son circled in a holiday catalog and has actually asked about since. In this game, there are a pieces/parts you might use to invent something spread out all around the table. You draw a card with a type of invention and everyone has to scramble to make the most magnificent option for that invention.
- 100 piece puzzle - We love puzzles in this house and are ready to upgrade to a 100 or even 200 piece puzzle. I love that this is a set of four puzzles that includes 100 and 200 piece puzzles. We have another box from this brand that starts at 48 pieces and my kids love it. This will be a nice, new challenge!
- Jixels - I love having fun arts and crafts activities on hand - especially as we head into the colder months. You use jixels to make pixel art. The kit comes with a bunch of designs you can follow or you can make your own. I like that this is something we can take apart and rebuild over and over again!
- Qwirkle - Can you tell we love games in this house? Qwirkle reminds me of dominos. You're trying to get rid of your tiles and you have to match either the color or the shape of tiles already laid down on the board.
- How to Draw 101 Things - Sticking with an art theme, my son really loves to draw. I like that this book provides step by step instructions for drawing a bunch of different things!
- Bike Wheel Lights - My son loves riding his bike! I love the idea of getting him bike lights so we can keep riding later into the evening.
- Magic Tree House Boxed Set: Books 1-4 - I think my kiddo is ready to start reading chapter books. It will be so fun to read 1-2 chapters a night and then pick the book up again the next day. I remember reading and loving these books when I was younger so I can't wait to read them with him!
