Hellooo everyone! Long time no "talk". I hope you all have been doing well! Things have been very busy around here lately and unfortunately the blog had to take a back seat for a few days. Tyler and I have been going pretty much nonstop ever since we returned home from London. All good, but exhausting haha! Things are starting to calm down, and I am planning to return to regular content on Monday of next week. However, I had to pop in today to for some quick announcements!

1. Last week, I wrote a guest post for Curly Crafty Mom sharing my favorite summer trends. I would love if you would check it out! :)

2. I have been putting quite a bit of focus into my YouTube channel lately. Have you subscribed? You definitely should! My next video will be a Fourth of July Video Diary, so make sure you're subscribed so you get notified when it goes live!

3. You may or may not have heard, but the best sale of the year starts next week! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicks off on July 14 for card members and is open to the public on July 22. Two years ago, I signed up for the card solely so I could buy my Tory Burch riding boots first thing. I was so glad I did, because by the time it opened to the public, they were all sold out! If you have something big in mind that you want to get, I would recommend looking into either a Nordstrom debit card or a Nordstrom credit card to ensure you get it. Happy Friday! Earlier this week, I was seriously in shock when I realized Fourth of July was just around the corner. I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of my past outfit posts where I featured outfits that would be perfect for the holiday! I have mentioned this before, but Tyler and I spend most of the Fourth of July weekend at his family cabin, so I really don't get too dressed up ever for the day anymore. If you're looking for some new classy shorts that will work for date night, look no further than these cute navy shorts. I am obsessed with these lace trim shorts. They are longer than most of my other shorts, but I actually really like the added length. I feel like they are the perfect shorts for date night, or any other fancy occasion. I also love that I can wear wedges with them without feeling uncomfortable. I love the combo of shorts with wedges, but I think some of my shorts are a little too short for that.

I paired the navy shorts with a yellow striped tank top here, for a more casual look. However, I think these shorts would look so cute with a nice blouse. (But let's be real, it's been way too hot lately to rock something like that!) These shorts also come in a taupe color, which is a fun neutral to have in your wardrobe. If you read this post a few weeks ago, then I am sure you are not surprised to see that I ended up buying this chambray peplum top. I pretty much love everything chambray (see my chambray dress here) so how could I resist this top!? I picked up during a Memorial Day sale and I love how it looks paired with white skinny jeans. Chambray with white denim is one of my favorite combos. See past posts with different variations here and here. I also think this chambray peplum top will look cute if it's styled with some patterned dress pants for work! For size reference I am wearing a 4 size and it fits perfectly.

Ever since Memorial Day, I have been trying to hold off on spending in anticipation of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. Anyone else looking forward to it? (It starts July 14 for card members and July 22 for public.) I have some items on my wishlist that I am hoping will be included. At the top of my list are some beige ankle booties, like these. I almost bought some last year during the sale, but decided against it since I already had beige wedge booties. Multiple times last year I wish I had the ones included in the sale, so I won't make that mistake again haha. Let me know what you're looking forward to buying in the comments below!

Can anyone else believe that Fourth of July is just a few short weeks away? My Fourth if always spent at Tyler's family cabin, so I really do not get dressed up for the holiday besides a swimsuit! However, prior to this tradition, Fourth of July was always a holiday I loved finding an outfit for that was festive without being over the top. I recently ordered this red and white striped tank top. Even though I didn't order it with Fourth of July in mind, as soon as I took it out of the package I knew it would be perfect for the day! In this look, I paired it with a navy necklace so I really embraced the patriotic feel. If you are looking for a cute outfit idea for the Fourth of July, definitely check out this top. (For size reference, I am wearing a small here but think an extra small would have fit better. I just didn't decide that until I cut the tag off so I'm hoping I can shrink it a little haha.)
