A while ago, I stumbled across this pin on Pinterest. It was red shorts paired with a navy/red polka dot blouse. I had both of these items in my wardrobe but never thought to pair them together. I always thought it would have been too matchy-matchy. When I saw the outfit, I fell in love and knew I had to recreate it! Unfortunately, almost everything in this outfit is no longer available online but I have linked similar products above.
Also, the title of this post is "summer schedule" because from now until Labor Day I am going to be cutting back on blogging. I loving blogging. It is a great hobby where I get to meet amazing people and has brought me some incredible opportunities. That being said, during the warmer months I want to enjoy the outside. I don't want to feel like I have to say no to an after work happy hour, a Royals baseball game, an evening walk with Tyler, etc. because I need to blog. I want blogging to stay enjoyable and for that reason I don't want it to become stressful for me. For the next few months I will only be blogging four days a week. Most likely I will be taking Thursday as a day off. I hope you all will understand! Of course, if I am feeling super inspired (or if there is something awesome happening in the blog world on a Thursday) there will be a post! Thank you for all of your continued love and support!

Totally understand about the taking time off! Everytime Chris comes to visit or I go see him, the blogging gets put on the back burner! And I love the outfit! Definitely not too matchy matchy, just maybe the perfect amount of it, haha

ReplyDeleteSweet outfit Darcy... I love the color combination ;-)
ReplyDeleteI totally understand cutting down for the summer. Life is meant to be enjoyed. We will all be here no matter how much or little you post ♡
First, love the outfit! Second, four days a week is still a lot! I don't blame you for wanting a day or two off in the summer! I don't know if I'll cut back my days since I'm only at 3 anyway, but I might be doing some short and sweet posts. It's definitely the season to get out and enjoy some fresh air, not be stuck behind a computer!

Darcy, I'm going to copy that outfit! I'm loving that tomato red and navy together. I've already cut back 2-3 days a week so I can enjoy things. Plus I'm out of town. Great decision doll.

You did a fantastic job on recreating that look- I don't think it is too matchy matchy, if anything it looks really, really good! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the vibrant color of your shorts- definitely a great piece for this summer! :)
And as for blogging, I agree with you- as blogging for must of us is a hobby, not a full time job, we have to cut back a bit if we feel it is needed. Because what is fun in hobby if you are constantly stressed about it, right? :)

Your color combinations are always so good. I agree with you on cutting back - blogging is not my job, so if I ever feel like I HAVE to make a post, I stop. Summer is time to be free and do things outside. By no means should we ever feel like a hobby has consumed us.

I would never think matchy-matchy. It's perfect. I love red and navy together. And I understand about cutting back. I am thinking the same thing. Summer is meant to relax and enjoy friends, family, and the weather.
ReplyDeleteI think taking a break is great! I have been doing the same thing. Blogging can be very demanding and hard to maintain with work, family, and friends!
