Today, as part of the Holiday Link Up with On the Daily Express and More Pieces of Me, I am sharing my holiday traditions! This year is the first year Tyler and I will be celebrating as an engaged couple. I always love Christmas, but I feel like this year will be super special :).
In the coming years, we will combine our family traditions as well as start some of our own. I am so excited to see how our family traditions come together. Here are some of my favorite family traditions:
1. For dinner on Christmas Eve,we order Valentino's pizza and lasagna. It is one my family's favorite things. My mom has asked before if we want to change this dinner to something more formal, and we always say no. It's nice to keep Christmas Eve simple and stress free!
2. When we were little, my brother, sister, and I each got to open one present on Christmas Eve. It was always a process picking which present we just had to open the night before! This is something I would love to do when Tyler and I have kids in the
3. Tyler and I do one Christmas date night a year. We go out to a fancy dinner and do our gift exchange just the two of us. (The picture is from our date last year.) I love having the time to ourselves. I don't know how long this will continue, but for right now it has become a favorite tradition of mine!
4. Growing up, I was in The Nutcracker ballet. I miss it so much and it is one of my favorite parts about Christmas! Even though I was in it and have a love-hate relationship with the music, I get so excited for it every year. We didn't make it this year because our trip to Mexico occupied two of the weekends it was showing, but hopefully Tyler will take us next year!
P.S. My look from last week was chosen as one of the Holiday Style Linkup Party favorites! Check it out by clicking the button below!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great post, Darcy. I loved reading each of your traditions and think I might need to steal some of them myself (especially date night & no stress dinners). Your date night outfit from last year is fantastic and just a perfect date-night look. I hope you have a great Christmas!

My family always opened one gift on Christmas Eve, too! I think it started as a way to appease the small children when all my cousins, brother, and I were little. Now we keep doing it because it is just so much fun!
