Dressing to travel is always somewhat of a challenge. You want to be cute, yet still comfortable, dressed for the weather when you arrive, but also prepared for the temperature on the plane. Knowing what to wear while traveling gets increasingly more difficult in the winter because clothes are bulkier and it is usually much colder (unless you are going on a beach vacation)! By now you all know that Tyler and I recently went to Colorado for a ski trip!  This outfit is what I wore on the plane to travel home.

I think this is the perfect outfit to wear while traveling in the winter for a couple reasons. I've listed them below for you!

1. Booties: For the airport, it's great to have shoes that are easy to get on and off while you are going through security. I personally think booties are less awkward to take off in line that tall riding boots are. Although if you are running out of room in your suitcase it makes more sense to wear your most bulky shoes on the plane, if you have the room I'd definitely opt for booties just for their ease factor!

2. Layers: Layers are great for traveling. I've got on a comfy sweater that you all recently saw styled here. It is paired over a nice red tank. This gives me options for if it is cold when I land, hot on the plane, etc. (Throw a blanket scarf in your carry on for even more options!)

3. Jeggings: For this look, I am actually wearing jeggings as opposed to jeans. They are much more comfortable than regular denim, which is great if you have a long flight or car drive ahead. While I normally prefer jeans with a little more structure, I think jeggings are the way to go while traveling. These ones are so comfortable, but look much nicer than sweatpants!

So there are the three things I consider when picking out my winter travel outfit. I'll probably be in something similar when we travel home for Christmas, too! What do you normally like to wear while traveling? Have any other tips? Let me know in the comments below!
